lucifer will try to help with some tasks, and give some hints from his experience. however, his brother can be a lot, and quite a insensitive bastard sometimes but he knows mammon means well. don’t make wrongs assumptions: he knows mammon would never do anything bad to you. so he passes by just to see if everything is at least not too much for you. lucifer takes a break from having to stop all of mammon’s troubles, but even so, he can’t stop of worrying if you two might be alright. however, even though lucifer knows exactly how mammon can be, and has been on the job of handling him for literal centuries, he will be thankful for you to try to take care of his little brother. he wouldn’t understand when you defend mammon just to scold him after, and would doubt your ways of handling him. mammon may not expose his power all the time and not be as knowledgeable of magic as his brother satan, but he knows his way around.
besides that, mammon isn’t any lower demon, this man-child is the second oldest - and according to satan, isn’t from order of birth, but of power - meaning he’s the most powerful brother second to lucifer. even diavolo know mammon is a bit hard to handle, but he still believes him, there’s a hidden potential in all of us!. but don’t worry, is a good kind of surprised.
